Inter have overtaken Serie A rival Juventus in the bid for Monza left back, Carlos Augusto.

Juventus sluggishness in wrapping up the deal mean they have lost out of the battle for the player as he is now heading towards Inter as reported by  as Fabrizio Romano.

Monza CEO Adriano Galliani also confirmed that the transfer of wingback Carlos Augusto to Inter Milan is a “done deal.”

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, the Brianzoli executive stated that Augusto made the choice to take his next steps with a team in the Champions League, and that he feels the player has earned the move.

With Robin Gosens move to Germany where he will link up with Union Berlin now imminent, the Brazilian is set to replace him.

Romano claims they have secured a verbal agreement to add him to their group in a deal worth €13m plus add-ons.

He would initially join the Milan club on loan but the fee to make the transfer permanent is mandatory.

Today, Monza CEO Galliani visited Inter headquarters. The purpose of his visit was to wrap up the agreement with the Nerazzurri on Augusto’s transfer.

And confirmation of the deal has come straight from the horse’s mouth – Galliani makes no attempt to hide the deal.

Now, it looks as though Augusto should wrap up the formalities very soon.

The 24-year-old will still have to undergo his medicals and sign his contract to become an Inter player.
