Although he was expected to attend the optional training session yesterday, Mauro Icardi preferred staying home. Another sign of lack of implication demonstrated by Inter’s ex-captain. Inter are looking for a replacement.
Given the past events and the drama that has happened between Inter and Icardi, both parts seem to be heading to parting ways.
As things stand, according to Corriere Dello Sport two names are in Inter’s management mind: Edin Dzeko from Roma and Duvan Zapata from Atalanta.
The same report suggest that it would be for the Roman striker that Inter’s management are falling. An experienced striker already used to Inter’s current coach Luciano Spalletti who have a good relationship with the player.
Still according to the same report, Dzeko and Roma are struggling to find an agreement for a new contract which could push the Bosnian to leave the Giallorosso side to join the Nerazzuri.
Despite interest shown by English clubs like Everton and West Ham, the 33 year old Bosnian is said to prefer staying in Italy for personal reasons.
