In yesterday’s game between Atalanta and Empoli, Inter sent a scout to watch closely Atalanta’s forward Zapata and Empoli’s right-back Di Lorenzo.
Zapata is one of the 3 names alongside Lukaku and Dzeko to replace Icardi should he leave at the end of the season. Inter’s first choice is Manchester United striker Lukaku but his price appears to be too high. This is why Inter consider Zapata as the alternative since he would cost half the price of Lukaku’s and his wages are also much less (1.6 million) when compared to Lukaku’s (10 million.)
Di Lorenzo has been one of the best right-backs this season in Serie A, so much that it has also attracted the attention of Italy’s coach Roberto Mancini. Inter will continue monitoring him to see if he is ready to play for a bigger club.
