An agreement has been found between Inter and Godin: the Nerazzurri are one step away from the Uruguayan defender, who is ready to leave Atletico Madrid on a free transfer in June.
Inter and Diego Godin are really on the verge of saying ‘Yes’. The 1986 born Uruguayan defender will leave Atletico Madrid on a free transfer (it will expire on 30 June 2019) next summer.
A two-year contract is being negotiated plus an option for a third season, this is the basis of agreement between Godin and Inter: both parties are now working to iron out the final details and thus close the deal, but the operation is really close to conclusion.
The medical visits will be scheduled in the next weeks and then the signatures on the contracts will be passed.
An important reinforcement now straight for Inter in view of next season, with the Nerazzurri who almost permanently burned the competition on one of the most appreciated defenders of European football in recent years: the Uruguayan central, among others, had been followed in also passed from Juventus.
Arriving in 2010 at Atletico Madrid, Godin this season has so far collected 13 appearances in Liga (and two goals) and four in the Champions League, as well as playing the European Super Cup won against Real.
Now, the future of the Nerazzurri, starting from June, seems ready to take on great challenges.
