Inzaghi spoke to the press after his sides comfortable 2-0 win over Salernitana. It seems the coach is starting to see improvements!
“The lads were very focused and played a good match, conceding little and always having it in hand. I asked for a match with the right attitude because we came from important matches, where we had spent a lot on a physical and mental level.”
Inzaghi went into detail a bit further about his teams preparation and how difficult it is after a midweek fixture.
“It is normal that the performances against the important teams give you a lot of self-esteem, but I must be honest that these challenges after returning at 4am from Barcelona are difficult to prepare, but the team has shown to react well.”
Our coach was asked about why Handanovic wasn’t available on the team sheet.
“Today Handanovic was not available because he had a problem. It will be an alternation and it is a doubt that I want to carry. In two months Onana has shown that he is an Inter goalkeeper. I always want to be lucky enough to be able to choose.”
Finally, an update on Lukaku which we have all been waiting for.
“For Lukaku we see day by day. The important thing is to have seen him prepare as best he can to return and we hope it will be as soon as possible.”
