Bastoni and Calhanoglu renew their contracts with Inter, the club confirms.
Alessandro Bastoni renews his contract and will be an Inter player until 2028. That was confirmed today by the club via the official website. The Italian defender already has 118 appearances for the club after joining in 2017. Bastoni played a year on loan with Atalanta and with Parma before returning to Milan. With Inter Alessandro won the Serie A and twice the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. He was also a vital part of the great run in the previous UEFA Champions League campaign. The defender won the European Championship with Italy. Alessandro Bastoni is part of the Serie A Team of the Year for the 2020-2021 season and the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season for the 2022–23 campaign.
Hakan Calhanoglu will also remain at the club after renewing his contract until 2027. The Turkish midfielder became a vital part of Simone Inzaghi’s midfield in the last campaign. With Marcelo Brozovic officially moving to Al Nassr Calhanoglu is expected to take his role in front of the defence. He played a lot of fixtures in that role when the Croatian was injured in the last season. Calhanoglu adapted very well to the new role and impressed many, including the coach. After winning twice the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana now Hakan Calhanoglu will be aiming at the Scudetto with Inter.
After Bastoni and Calhanoglu renew their contracts Inter will again focus on the transfer market. This week will be decisive for the potential transfer of Andre Onana to Manchester United. The English club is yet to match Inter’s demand for the goalkeeper. On the other hand, Inter will once again have to negotiate the return of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea on loan with an obligation.
