Ahead of the match on Saturday against Hellas Verona at the San Siro, Antonio Conte held a press conference at the Suning training center. He explained to the reporters the challenges and difficulties of the coming fixture. “We must take on this challenge against Hellas with great attention. We know they are healthy, they press and run hard. It will not be a simple match.”

Conte added “We will have to be good despite the defeat against Dortmund. It is a part of the growth process. We have discarded the negatives and bitterness and we look forward now.”

Inter’s recent injury woes have plagued their standings in the Champions league; Conte said “When you play two such important events, you have to take possible injuries in to account. Although, I am not worried because I trust this group of men very much. It is a group of players who are doing extraordinary things. There are obstacles and difficulties along the way, but we all give our maximum. This group is still young and I know we can build something important but at the same time the bar must be raised regardless. There should never be an alibi. We are INTER. I raise for the bar constructively for everyone, starting with me.”

Regarding Inter’s injury situation, Conte explained “Danilo has been training but he still feels pain. We will evaluate his condition and see if he can be available. Sensi has abductor problem. He is currently struggling to improve. We will carefully manage his situation and evaluate him. As for the striking options, I have full faith in Lukaku and  Lautaro. I am not afraid to start Esposito from the first minute either. We are also considering the possibility of bringing Primavera players such as Fonseca and Vergani to the first team.
