Bastoni and Calhanoglu to renew their contracts with Inter until 2028, and 2027 respectively, according to Fabrizio Romano. Both contracts are done and will be communicated by the club before the end of the season.
Alessandro Bastoni will stay at Inter until 2028. The player and the club have been in contact in the last months, trying to agree on a new deal. A couple of months ago there were serious concerns as Inter didn’t look certain to qualify for next year’s edition of the Champions League. There was a significant distance between the player’s demand and the club’s proposal. Still, according to the report Bastoni agreed to the new deal. The Italian defender is with the club since 2017. He played a season on loan at Atalanta and at Parma. In 2019/2020 Bastoni officially returned to Inter where he is set to stay until 2028.
Hakan Calhanoglu will also renew his contract with Inter. The Turkish midfielder is one of the most important players for Simone Inzaghi’s team this season. He stepped up when Marcelo Brozovic was away with injury, playing incredibly in front of the defense. Calhanoglu previously said that he wants to stay at Inter and hopes to renew. Now, it seems his wish will come true and the midfielder will stay with the Nerrazuri until 2027.
Both contracts are very important for the club and were renewed thanks to the partly unexpected run in Europe. By reaching the Champions League Final Inter will earn more than €100 million, which helps the club close the renewals and have a more calm summer transfer market.
