Milan derby loss looming,

If we play like that against a red hot Milan, we can kiss our derby goodbye. A big 3 points coming up, and after a terrible performance, I don’t see us picking up any points. Milan have been red-hot, and I can see us putting up a defensive effort, but I just can’t see us scoring a goal. Martinez is not Icardi, and I can say, with everything happening at the moment, Icardi is going to be a big miss this coming week. We need him to sort himself out and get back on the field. Martinez is still very inexperienced and it showed in the match missing some capable chances as well as not even hitting the target in some very woeful attempts on goal.

The two goals we scored came off some good luck, both defecting into Inter players, and then decent finishing put them in the back of the net. We are lacking creativity upfront and that could be due to missing some key players, however, that is no excuse that the players filling the void shouldn’t be able to look creative and set up chances against Spal. Inters depth is very concerning, and it’s only concerning due to poor management. Year after year, Inters youth dominate the primavera, and what do we have to show for it? Absolutely nothing. We have D’ambrosio and Candrava to show for it. Whilst we have Marco Benassi and Biraghi are dominating the field for Fiorentina. If Candrava plays another match for Inter, there should be an investigation into Spalletti. Spalletti needs to have an eye test, each week, Candrava and D’ambrosio have been putting well below par performances for Inter and yet get minutes week after week.

At least one positive came out of the game, our defense. Inter have 13 clean sheets this year, only 1 behind Juventus, which considering our wing backs, is a miracle in itself. Our rock solid defense held together by De Vrij and Handanovic, and to be fair, Miranda before he was subbed off with a broken nose. Cedric had a decent performance, but the likelihood to redeem him, for that price tag isn’t looking likely, considering Inter, very embarrassingly, let the redemption of Alex Telles and Cancelo lapse, but at least we have D’ambrosio…

Yes, Inter were missing a lot of players, but, that is no excuse against Spal. Inters third team should be able to comfortably beat Spal. Looking at previous games and where we have dropped points, Inter need to improve and become more consistent, if we were to challenge in the future for a title, every point counts, we can’t be dropping points to Chievo, Cagliari and Bologna. We got very lucky with the result this week, looking very bad upfront, and we will struggle this coming week against Milan if we don’t get our sh.. together.
