When In Rome!

Inter have annihilated Roma as the match ended 3-0 in the Nerazzurri’s favour. Tactically an absolutely perfect performance from Inzaghi’s men.

Let’s look a bit further into some key points from the match itself.

Man of the Match –

This man has been on fire for the past month, and he’s only improving as the weeks go by. Hakan was phenomenal today and put in nearly a 10/10 performance.

Calhanoglu opened the scoring for Inter before the quarter of the hour mark with a wonderful goal from a corner. A dipping and swirling corner kick made life difficult for Roma’s keeper as the ball went through his legs. How ironic that he scored an Olimpico at the Olimpico!

From this moment on, Inter never looked back. About half way into the first half, Inter made it 2-0 with Hakan being provider on this occasion. A lovely team goal as the ball ping-ponged around the Inter attack before Hakan laid it off for Dzeko to put the ball into the back of the net.

Calhanoglu kept the Roma defence on their toes as he almost had another assist as Dzeko’s effort was brilliantly parried away from danger. For the rest of the match, Hakan kept the pressure on and played fantastically for the remainder.

Ever since the Milan derby, Hakan has found his feet and I’m loving the form he’s in. If he keeps this up, he’ll end the season as the best buy in Serie A, you can be sure of that.

Team performances –

As the weeks go by, Inzaghi’s style is being instilled greater and greater on the players. It’s extraordinary to think that this is Inzaghi’s first season with these players, as they all seem to have already bought into his philosophies.

I can’t remember the last time that I saw Inter consistently play with this much confidence. Even under Conte when Inter won several games in a row, they played matches where the result was very lucky in the end.

At the moment, Inzaghi’s Inter are putting the sword to the opponents and really going for the win. It’s a very attacking style, and I like it!

Several of our players are in the form of their lives, and I think that has to do with the environment that’s been built for these players. The club is buzzing, as it’s the first time we’ve made the knockout stages of the Champions League in a decade, and another Scudetto looks to be on the horizon.

It’s a wonderful time to be an Inter fan so strap yourselves in and get ready for the journey ahead.

Poor Mourinho –

Apparently this was the first time in Mourinho’s coaching history that one of his teams has been done 3-0 at half time. I’m sure that if there’s one club he wanted this to happen against, it’s Inter.

Mourinho is an Interista through and through, and I love him for everything he did for Inter. He’ll always be apart our history and will go down as one of the greatest coaches ever for Inter.

Since the match occurred, I’ve seen a lot of hate from Inter fans and I was pretty embarrassed to see this type of behaviour.

Without Mourinho, we may not have won the infamous terrible. Yes, I understand he is now the coach of Roma but that doesn’t mean we don’t respect the man for his time with us. It seems like all that got thrown out the window which I do not like.

Where to next?

Inter will travel to the Bernabeu in the final match of the Champions League group stages. A victory against Madrid will ensure that Inter finishes first in the group, and with this avoiding a lot of the top tier sides left in the competition.

Prediction: Inter 2-1

As always, Forza Inter!
