Interviewed by Sky Sport, Christian Vieri commented on the outcome of yesterday’s match between Juventus and Inter.

Defending the Nerazzurri coach Luciano Spalletti, Vieri commented on the much criticized substitution of Matteo Politano:

“When a coach makes a substitution that does not appeal to the people, you have to immediately criticize the coach right away. But you end up changing 20 managers with this mindset.”

The former Inter star went on to praise the man in charge:

“Spalletti is a great coach, if you ask him to win he can not do it because he can not work miracles, he’s not Harry Potter. Last year they went to the Champions League, where they are doing very well, they could also qualify and they are third in the league.”

“I would not have removed Politano, but he is the coach and he decides. Now Inter is a team, he is improving match after match and it is hard to defeat Juventus.”

Vieri also commented on Inter captain Icardi:

“Mauro Icardi? He scores if he is served by the midfielders. If Inter do not create much, it is more difficult because he is a zonal player anyway. He’s trying to make himself available to his teammates, so he has to start doing these things, so he becomes even more complete.”
