Spezia vs Inter: Stats and Predictions

Tomorrow Inter travels to La Spezia to face the local team in an attempt to secure the second spot. However, the match surely won’t be a walk in the park.

As we have seen during 2023 Inter struggles a lot against “small teams”, especially in away fixtures. Of the four games played away Inter only has collected 5 points of 12 (1 win, 2 draws and 1 defeat). Also during the entire season Inter has very bad numbers in goals conceded away being in the top 5 of that chart with 22 goals conceded (only after Cremonese, Salernitana and Bologna).

Adding to these difficulties, Spezia is also in a relegation battle with only 3 points more than the 18th spot held by Hellas Verona. Spezia needs desperately to get points against Inter, considering Hellas play at home against Monza on Sunday.

Inter vs. Sampdoria: Stats

However not everything is bad news for Inter in the upcoming game. In the last 5 encounters since Spezia reached Serie A in 2020/2021 season, Inter have won 4 games with only one draw (1-1 in 2021). Also Inter has scored 11 times against 3 goals conceded on those matches.

Inter vs. Sampdoria: Suspensions, Injuries, and Team News

For tomorrow’s game Skriniar and Correa are out because of injury. The good news is that Federico Dimarco is back into the team after being absent for the last two fixtures. Nonetheless Gosens has stepped up especially in the last game against Lecce. That’s why it’s expected that Gosens will start and Dimarco could be used from the bench.

Also, according to Sky Sport it’s probable that Inzaghi will choose to rest Hakan Calhanoglu and Brozovic will start again in the regista position with Barella and Mkhitaryan completing the midfield.

Finally it’s confirmed that Lukaku will start tomorrow. There is still to be decided if he will be accompanied with Lautaro or Dzeko, although the LuLa combination is more likely.

In Spezia only Simone Bastoni and Emil Holm are sidelined because of injury.

Spezia starting lineup:Dragowski; Reca, Nikolaou, Ampadu, Amian; Agueldo, Ekdal, Bourabia; Gyasi, Nzola, Verde

Inter starting lineup:Onana; Bastoni, Acerbi, Darmian; Gosens, Mkhitaryan, Brozovic, Barella, Dumfries; Lukaku, Lautaro.
