Spalletti Post Match: Icardi said ‘No’, Marotta will say the rest

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti had plenty to say after Inter’s 0-0 away draw away in Frankfurt today regarding the match, Icardi, Perisic, and how we look going forward.

On Icardi:
“I have not seen or heard in the previous days. He said the doctor evaluated that he needed more time. Marotta will speak about the rest in the coming days.”

On Brozovic missing the penalty:
“There are 2-3 players in the hierarchy that know how to hit them. Brozovic is one of them. He took the ball in his arm and said that he will kick this one. We have Nainggolan as well, but even he missed (chuckles).”

“An regrets about the overall result”?
“Frankfurt are a side that are aiming to do well in the competition. We had our chances in both the first and second half. We will look to get the result in the return leg.”

On the slight risk of a Perisic injury:
“He will definitely recover. He has a lot of muscle and it won’t be a problem. It is true we have a shortened squad list for Europa, with some disqualified. We will also look at recovering Keita Balde shortly.”

“With Martinez suspended for the return leg, how crucial is Keita?”
“”There is no question that it is not easy for us to be in the game against Spal. We still have to take some steps forward, unfortunately 2-3 things have happened that put us in a bit of trouble. It is the reaction of the team: you have to bring out something super, to be able to bring home the result we want to catch, and this is not just about the single game: you have to offer a performance to the maximum of your chances.”
