After an amazing night at Giuseppe Meazza, Inter have succeeded in taking back the 3rd spot of the Serie A through the goals of Lautaro, De Vrij and Vecino. A derby that ended in 2-3 win for the nerazzuri side, a first away win for Inter against Milan since 2012.

During the post-derby interview, Luciano Spalletti did not spare the great absentee Mauro Icardi by flattering an in-form Lautaro Martinez.

“Lautaro knows how to drop back and attack from deep positions, he is strong with his headings and with the ball at his feet, he has personality. He is one of those who know how to take responsibility, we have found the strong attacker who can fix things in this difficult time.”

“We need to say ‘bravo’ to Lautaro for the penalty, to Politano for the cuts and Perisic for the crosses. Well done to those who are inside the locker room, we have to say ‘bravo’ also for sport professionals. And let people know that you are present with them is useful for the situation we are going through.”

Comments that seem directed to Icardi’s absence. Reading between the lines, one can clearly see how unprofessional Icardi’s behavior appears to Luciano Spalletti.

“When you come out of a competition this way, if you don’t clarify what happened, you risk heavy consequences. We have drawn a line between the previous game and that of tonight.”

“If I take Brozovic off I am crazy … Vecino has played a great game: he understood when to go and attack the midfield, then he has an easy stride. He does 14 km per game and the meters are not a problem, he comes back and supports in defense.”
