After a difficult and stressful game, the ragazzi managed to secure the 3 points. We’ve written down our ratings for the players who took part in today’s win.
Handanovic: 6.5 – Had practically nothing to do in the first half. Showed up big time with great saves in the second half, couldn’t do anything about that goal.
Skriniar: 7 – An absolute rock in the defense. Seems like playing as a right centre back suits him well. Could’ve avoided that yellow.
De Vrij: 7.5 – The heart of the team. This man has had a flawless season so far. Handled all the pressure Sampdoria threw at us with ease and calmness.
Bastoni: 7 – Having a debut match surrounded with De Vrij, Skriniar and Handanovic can put anyone under pressure, and the young lad did really well. A future asset for our team
Candreva: 6.5 – Had a decent game and supported the offense well. Offside denied him of an absolutely beautiful goal.
Gagliardini: 7 – He loves scoring against teams from Genoa. Held the midfield well with his teammates, looked calm and collected.
Brozovic: 7.5 – The Croatian maestro had yet another beautiful game. After looking a bit shaky in some previous games, the man showed up big time today and proved his value for this team
Sensi: 8 – Yet another MOTM performance from our best signing this summer. His assistance up front is sub par. First goal was given to him despite his desire to give it to Sanchez
Asamoah: 6.5 – Worked really hard both offensively and defensively. Looked solid and reliable throughout the game.
Lautaro: 5 – Keeps applying good pressure to the opponent’s defense yet his finishing and decision making are still lacking, could’ve easily scored at least two goals today. He needs a goal for his confidence and what better chance to get that goal than against either Barca or Juve?
Sanchez: 5.5 – Had a phenomenal first half. Was a leader for his teammates on the pitch with his constant motivation and hard work. The goal was just the icing on the cake. Could’ve been a 7.5 if it weren’t for his foolish mistake to dive and put his team in a dangerous situation.
Subs:
Lukaku: 6 – Put on for his physicality and his ability to help the defense. Didn’t have much help due to the man disadvantage. Had two decent efforts at goal.
D’Ambrosio: 6 – Subbed in for Candreva to help defensively and did what was asked of him to the point. Workhorse
Barella: 6.5 – Put on in Sensi’s place and worked hard to overcome being a man down and provide Lukaku with the assistance he needs
