Inter take on Borussia Dortmund on match day 3 in the Champions League where three points is the only viable outcome.
Antonio Conte’s men have had a disappointing start to the campaign, acquiring only 1 point from the opening two match days. As well as this, Inter know that three points at home is the only way to realistically stay afloat in the competition.
Speaking before the fixture, Inter coach Antonio Conte had this to say:
“We can’t say that this match is a final,” Conte told a press conference. “That would be an exaggeration, finals are played at the very end.
“We’ll be involved in an important match when we face Borussia Dortmund. I want one thing, for us to give everything we’ve got so we leave the pitch without any regrets.
“We need to play the best we possibly can. But I repeat, we need to play the best we can so as to not have any regrets.”
Team News:
Inter – Alexis Sanchez, Danilo D’ambrosio and Stefano Sensi are all out injured. Asamoah & Gagliardini expected to start.
Likely XI – Handanovic, Skriniar, Godin, De Vrij, Asamoah, Brozovic, Barella, Gagliardini, Candreva, Lukaku, Martinez.
Dortmund – Notable absentees include Gotze, Reus & Alcacer. Hitz; Hakimi, Weigl Akanji, Hummels, Schulz; Delaney, Witsel; Sancho, Hazard, Brandt;
Prediction:
Inter will be feeling the heat now after failing to gain a victory in their opening two matches. With the stakes as high as ever in this fixture, expect us to go hell for leather in a last ditch attempt to progress out of the group.
