Inter Worldwide is happy to present (at long last) a regular ‘Player Ratings’ segment to be distributed via the ever so reliable Mario Gagliano.
Handanovic – 6.8 – a leader from the back. Got beaten on a defensive lapse but otherwise did well.
D’Ambrosio – 8.1– defended and attacked with his heart and soul. Started slowly but found his groove and showed why he is a starting RB
Skriniar – 6.4 – solid as per usual but mistakes were made that led to the goal
De Vrij – 6.9 – another day in the office, other that the one breakdown in defense he was solid in the back
Dalbert – 6.9 – a much needed outing. Needs to clean up his passing but ran up and down the lines with force all day
Gagliardini – 5.8 – looked a bit out of touch with the rest of the squad. Seemed anxious to make the perfect play or touch. Played an excellent ball to lautaro for a chance
Brozovic – 6.5 – not his best, but pulled the strings in the midfield
Nainggolan – 7.3 – constant shooting threat and lead by example. Energetic and deserved his game winning goal
Politano – 6.9 – stormed down the right flank every chance he got. Just missing a quality final ball whether it be a shot cross.
Perisic – 7.8 – inter needed a leader, Ivan stepped up when the team needed him. Dangerous on the left. This is the perisic we’ve been missing.
Lautaro – 6.8 – put in a great shift linking the midfield and attack. Created danger going forward. missed a breakaway from gagliardini’s lovely pass. Created space and played an absurd no look ball through to candreva. Linked up with perisic in the first half very nicely with a flick to crate a radja shot
Joao Mario – 6.4 – breath of fresh air in the midfield adding creativity and movement. Not the most effective but changed the pace when brought on.
Candreva – 6.1 – came on for politano, went straight at the defense but like politano, could not get the finishing product.
Vecino – n/a – only came on to give Nainggolan a proper send off.
