Following on from the Sports Judge’s ruling in February, Inter’s appeal for an automatic win over Bologna has lost with the match scheduled in a fortnight.

Inter’s whole argument stood on the premise that Bologna were ready to play. The home side had submitted their “player sheet” 24 hours before kick-off. This means the match should be played as listed in Serie A guidelines.

Unfortunately, the reasons raised by Inter were not enough the overturn the ruling. Bologna submitted documentation showing there were enough players COVID positive in the squad. So there was no choice but to allow the fixture to be postponed.

Above: The initial February ruling for the match to be postponed.

The match will be played on April 27th, with the time yet to be determined. This was the final attempt from Inter, as the initial ruling and now the appeal have both gone against the Nerazzurri.

In all honesty, if we want to win the title then we need to be prepared for every match. It’s unfortunate we didn’t get the chance to beat Bologna in January, but this gives us a chance to win fair and square.

Our focus completely shifts to the Spezia game which is in less than 36 hours from now.
