SkySport interviewed Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan pitch-side right at the end of the match against Sampdoria. The nerazzurri claimed a hard-fought but deserved victory at the San Siro, with goals from Danilo D’Ambrosio and the Belgian himself. Former captain Mauro Icardi, who watched the match from the stands, and his position within the team, though, are still very much at the centre of attention.
Nainggolan underlined the importance of the win in maintaining a 4-point gap to 4th in the standings after Milan’s victory, as well as an 8-point gap down to 5th place, at least until Roma plays tomorrow. He added: “There’s been too much talk from the outside, we must try to win to remain calm”.
Regarding Icardi, he said: “We that everything will be solved, because we are united as a team and want to win.” The Belgian also praised his former captain, saying he “always gives his all and has shown what he is capable of.”
Mirroring Spalletti’s words from his post.match interview, Nainggolan also recognised Lautaro Martinez’s impressive performance: “we now also have Lautaro that is doing well, but we need everyone to get ot the end.”
Finally, Radja admitted that he had some personal problems that limited him in the first half of the season. He added that he now “only thinks about playing and doing his best for the team.”
