Serie A Week 21
Sun Jan 27th 2019, 18:00 PM
Torino – Inter
Olimpico di Torino (Cloudy – 2℃)
After an incredibly annoying draw against Sassuolo at San Siro, Icardi & Co will try to win the 3 points at Torino against Mazzarri’s team. They are coming from a poor period in Serie A(6 points in the last 6 games) and the elimination from the Coppa Italia, so they will have nothing to lose. On the other hand, we have a great chance to gain more distance from the 4th spot and secure our CL qualification for next year.
Here’s a breakdown of the match:
Match Stats:
- In all Serie A statistics, Torino rank right in the middle of the board, with few exception toward the bottom. The only noticeable information is the high number of offside (52, #3 in the league) and the low number of corners (91, #13 in serie A, Inter is #1 with 158).
- Another big difference is the average of Km run during the game, just 106 versus our 111. It may not look so different but we are third in this stat while Torino is just above the last position.
- Their Key Player is Belotti, even though is playing way below his standard so far. That doesn’t mean he’s less dangerous, especially considering that he already scored 3 goal against us. He will play with a protection on his hand for an injury during a training session.
Match Facts:
Looking at all this data, we should be able to score at least on goal, but Torino’s players are unpredictable and all inclined to score (6 different players have scored their last 6 goals!). Torino allowed an average of 1.1 goal a game and and also scored at least one against us in the previous 6 league games.
Stats:
On top of all that, Mazzarri seems to be still mad at Inter and Spalletti as well (see the handshake of last April and their ‘90 past in Tuscany). Apparently, he won’t be able to complain about the rain this time.
Meite’ (one of the best granata youngster) is the only player not available for suspension while Keita is still out for injury. Parigini and Vrsaljko are both in doubt for their physical condition.
Inter draw and lost the last two games at the Olimpico and Toriino won their last 2 home game in Serie A. Finally, Inter won only one of the last 6 league games against Torino (3 Lost, 3 Draw) but we never conceived a goal in seven consecutive meetings against the Granata.
