Inter – Bologna

San Siro (Cloudy – 5℃)

After the awful elimination from Coppa Italia, Inter will play another game at San Siro, this time against Bologna, at the moment 18th in the standings. As in our best interest, during this past week Bologna changed their manager and hired an ex Nerazzurro, Sinisa Mihajlovic. He started his coaching career at Bologna with decent results. At Inter he won, as a player, the 2005/06 scudetto, 2 Coppa Italia and 1 Supercoppa Italiana playing 43 games and scoring 6 goals.

Match Stats:

  • Inter has yet to score in Serie A this year, they did worse just in the 1956 season.
  • Bologna and Inter scored just 4 goals in their last 7 games in serie A (same as Milan).
  • The last time Inter conceived a goal at San Siro was against Fiorentina back in September. We could set a new record keeping eight clean sheet in a row at home.
  • In their last 8 away Serie A games in Lombardia, Bologna have earned just 1 point, 1-1 draw against us in 2016.

Match Facts:

If they were playing just a week ago, I would give a totally different reading to this numbers. But Today I think we could actually throw all this datas out of the window. The two teams are in a very delicate situation mentally and physically. Bologna just appointed a new coach and is fighting to avoid relegation. Their player will fight to the end to impress Sinisa and take advantage of our wounded team. Because that’s what we are at the moment. Not able to win, not able to score, with a formation that is not clear in Spalletti’s mind and with members that will happily leave the sinking ship. After losing the Coppa Italia quarter final against Lazio in 120’, players will be also tired and morally down. If, by chance, we conceived a goal, I think we won’t be able to come back. At the moment we are like a boxer after 7 awful rounds, barely standing but still with some home in us. We will desperately try to hit with all our final strength, but if we miss and the adversary punch us back, that could be our last K.O. and probably Spalletti’s too.

Stats:After 21 games:

2,67 is the goal average of an Inter – Bologna match. It would be a good moment for Icardi to stop his 5-games drought in Serie A. he did worse (9) just in 2013, when he was at Sampdoria.

After this winter transfer window, Bologna tried to improve their formation with the midfielder Soriano and the forward Sansone. Soriano scored 9 of his 17 goal in Serie A having Sinisa as a coach. The only new player at Inter is the right back Cedric, hopefully a more solid option compared to Vrijsaliko.
