Inter CEO Beppe Marotta spoke to the press and reiterated the clubs ambitions in signing two strikers to please new manager Antonio Conte.
On Conte:
“Everyone is on the same page at the club. Conte demands a lot from his players which is why he feels that he needs a full team as soon as possible.”
Meeting with Suning & Zhang:
“It was a beneficial meeting, showing once again that the club and coach Conte are working closely together. He will soon have a real and complete team to work on on the details the way he wants and can do.”
On the striker situation:
“We are out of the UEFA’s bad books so we don’t want to get back in. We want to improve but we have to be smart as well. Transfer market? We want to add two strikers to our team, one younger one and one more experienced one.
At the moment, we only have Lautaro Martinez since Keita and Icardi aren’t part of our plans anymore. We are currently looking at many players, let’s wait and see….”.
On thing is for sure, this mercato merry-go-round doesn’t look like coming to a halt anytime soon.
