In the wake of Inter’s 1-0 win over Napoli shadowed by controversy surrounding Kalidou Koulibaly, the Nerazzurri are forced to play their next two home games behind closed doors without the fans as punishment for racial abuse hurled towards Koulibaly during the game.

This is evidently highlighted in this mornings fixture as Inter were not delegated any away tickets for the crucial showdown with Empoli. Inter did however go onto win the match 1-0 thanks to a superb strike from Keita Balde and following the game he had some kind words for his “brother” and Senegalese team mate Koulibaly as he told Sky Sports Italia: “It’s a very important victory for us, we wanted it at all costs before the break. We always aim high, no matter who we play. We are Inter and I’m proud to wear these colours.

“Koulibaly? He’s my brother, we play together in the national team. What happened on Wednesday night shouldn’t happen, football is hope. We have to be united for a better world.” Keita’s strike ensured Inter ended 2018 on a high with back to back wins and a strong 3rd position, 7 points clear from Lazio (4th).
