Romelu Lukaku has struggled to fit in at his new club Chelsea, and a return to Inter may be on the cards. He misses everything about Inter!
As reported by GdS, Lukaku would be willing to lower his salary (if he was to ever come back) to play for the Serie A Champions. It would be a sensational return for the Belgian, who left at the end of last season for Chelsea to follow his “dream”.
Eight months later, there is regret as Romelu has failed to make the impact that a €115 million striker should. Only managing 10 goals across all competitions this season, compared to the spectacular 30 goals in 44 appearances last season.
We’ve seen over the past few months how much Inter misses a sharpshooter upfront. The likes of Dzeko and Lautaro waste far too many good opportunities in front of goal, and this has really cost Inter decisive results to stamp their authority in Italy.
Even recently in the Champions League, the addition of Lukaku would’ve been perfect. I can agree that how Lukaku left last season was disappointing, but I would take him back in a heartbeat.
A loan with option to buy, then part of the salary being covered would be perfect. Now it’s up to the club to decide where we go from here, but I think it might be difficult for Chelsea to let him go so easily.
