Former inter manager Marcelo Lippi has backed the new CEO of Inter Giuseppe Marotta to succeed at inter, praising him as one of Europe’s best managing directors.

Marotta was unveiled to fans as the official director on December 13 and reports suggest that Marotta is focused on his first transfer window at Milan, having spent the last 8 years at Juventus orchestrating some of the best transfers seen this century, signing Andrea Pirlo and Dani Alves on a free transfer before leaving in September.

Lippi is confident the former Turin man can restore the Nerazzurri to their former glory. Marotta is one of the best in his role in Europe,” Lippi told Quotidiano.net.

“He’ll be determined to do a good job in a club as prestigious as Inter.” Juventus are currently leading the league table sitting 9 points clear of Napoli (2nd), collecting 53 out of 57 points possible. Lippi praised Inter for their recent successes over the years as a club but claims they still have a long way to go if they wanna close the gap with the Bianconeri.

“I love the job Carlo Ancelotti is doing at Napoli,” he continued, “because he’s taken Maurizio Sarri’s philosophy forward but also added some of his own ideas. “But they have a lot of work still to do to reach Juventus’s level, as do Inter.”
