Lautaro Martinez was interviewed by Inter TV after his match winning goal and superb performance against Verona.
“We knew it was going to be hard. Verona play man all over the pitch, get high on the goalkeeper and force you to throw long balls. There aren’t many teams that play like this in the league. They looked for a center forward for a long time with high balls, it was a game in which great humility was needed.”
Lautaro spoke of the performance of the team and ability to stay in control.
“We had the right attitude, we prepared well for the match, we started well with the goal and we were good until the 94th minute. This is the right attitude, you always have to give 100% on the pitch, help your teammates.”
Finally, attention turned to the SuperCoppa against Milan. Lautaro believes the team has what is required to win.
“Now let’s think about the Super Cup, which is very important. We are in a big club, there must always be a habit of winning, playing in finals, trying to win trophies. We have quality, the history of this club requires it. Let’s rest and get ready to bring the Super Cup to Milan.”
Personally, I think we can win our first trophy of the season. Although form goes out the window in a derby, I’m confident we can prevail in this match. Also, Inzaghi loves these one off cup games so that may be the difference.
