Inter striker and recent World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez was interviewed by Inter TV after the disappointing 2-2 draw with Monza.

Understandably, Lautaro wasn’t happy with how Inter conceded the last minute goal. He also had words to say about the referee and the lack of VAR intervention. Lautaro also spoke about how the team should’ve wrapped up the match and not been so vulnerable to a late equaliser too.

“Regret, anger and disappointment. We played an excellent first half, we could have done better in the second half. The episodes remain, but the VAR has been around for a few years and therefore we can’t explain certain mistakes.

“We certainly had to be better – either at closing the match or at keeping the ball in order not to give the opponents the opportunity to draw. We must all stick together. There are many matches, we rest and think about the Coppa Italia.

“We need everyone, we play every 3 days and the pitches get heavy and the matches are always very intense.”
