Lautaro Martinez scored after a month without a goal to kick-off Inter’s win 2-1 at the Bentegodi against Hellas Verona.
Inter is on a 7-games winning streak in Serie A. The international Argentinian striker expressed his thoughts and feelings in the post-match interview: “We played a very difficult and good team today, we are thrilled that we never gave up and kept going. We did not convert our chances in the first half, but we were more clinical in the second. We were able to grab the three points with our persistence as a team.”
Lautaro opened up about his time at the club and his relation with his striking Partner Lukaku: “I am here to win with the Inter. We work very hard daily to stay ahead. Some days we face difficult matches which we have to work harder. Today was one of these days, and we won. Lukaku? We have gotten along since his first day here.
Martinez talked about his goal drought since the Torino game a month ago: “A striker needs to score. Being the scorer of the goal that opened the game today makes it more significant, but I am always glad when Inter wins. I always want to help the team.”
Lautaro dedicated his goal to his family, who have joined him for the holidays. The striker wished the fans and everyone at the club happy holidays.
