Cremonese - Inter

Inter have come back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Cremonese away from home 2-1, thanks to two goals from Lautaro.

An overall scrappy showing from Inter. It had vibes of the Monza match a couple of weeks ago, which we know Inter conceded at the death for a 2-2 draw. Fortunately in this case, we would hold on and grab the victory.

Let’s look further into the match itself.

A match which Inter dominated and deserved the 3 points in the end. There were so many shots at goal for Inter and a total of 14 corners to the Nerazzurri.

Even with this domination, it could not stop an outrageous goal from Okereke which hit top bins. Up to the point of the goal, Inter spent all their time in the Cremonese half, and one moment of magic completely changed momentum.

Undeservedly, Inter were behind after Cremonese had their only shot on target.

Luckily for Inzaghi’s men, they would not be behind for long. A corner would find Dzeko free near the back of the box and a shot on the volley would bring Carnesecchi into action. The Cremonese keeper would parry the ball straight to Lautaro who made no mistake.

The score now 1-1 with close to 70 minutes to play.

Play would continue on as it was before Cremonese stunned with the first goal. Inter for large periods held possession and rack up shots on target. However, no goal would come until finally in the 65th minute. A perfect ball from Dzeko would put Lautaro in on goal. and the Argentine made no mistake.

Lautaro’s form after the World Cup has gone from strength to strength. A double today now takes him to 11 Serie A goals, putting him 3rd on the list for this season.

The key to Inter’s season is Lautaro and has been for a while now. Dzeko is so important too, but when Lautaro performs, we see such a stronger Inter.

Where to next?

Back to the Coppa Italia in a few days time where Inter will host Atalanta. In recent weeks, Atalanta have really found some form so this will definitely be a tough test.

Prediction: Inter 1-1 but win after penalties.

As always, Forza Inter!
