Mauro Icardi was yesterday making fun of an article from La Gazetta Dello Sport. The article suggested that Inter would prefer Icardi to deal with another agent rather than his wife Wanda Nara. In his instagram story Mauro Icardi mocks the article and denies Inter’s desire to change Icardi’s agent. However, the author of the article answered today to the Argentinean and the following quotes are his words regarding this whole situation.
“The Gazzetta did not invent the fact that the club is annoyed. This annoyance is as real as the annoyance that Inter experienced due to Icardi’s delay from his holidays, which led to him receiving a fine of €100,000. Meanwhile Wanda is back to talking about things such as ‘the renewal is far away’ and ‘other teams are interested in Mauro.’ These statements resulted in temperatures rising within the club; so much so that in the next meeting regarding the renewal, it would be better if Wanda left the limelight while managing this deal.”
“This was just an opportunity to explain how Inter wants to set the future with its most important player. That article was then labeled as “crap” on Mauro Icardi’s Instagram, who then went on to point out that Wanda will always take care of his interests and explained to the fans that he has not yet received a specific offer.”
“We have nothing to say about the last two points, but regarding the first one: perhaps the real problem is not what Icardi thinks of our article, but that Icardi has not understood what Inter thinks and what they want from him. Zhang said a few words yesterday in order to try to defuse the situation and show confidence in reaching an agreement.”
“All of this is because Icardi is not just an economic asset of the club; he is also the man who scored a hundred goals, he is a player who makes the kids dream, and he can become more than just a great striker, he can follow in the footsteps of Vieri, Ronaldo, and Milito. To do that, he needs to understand what is still missing. No one can doubt that Mauro is a huge talent, but to become a champion requires time.”
“The word “champion” applies to those who combine talent with the correct behavior, extreme professionalism, seriousness, setting an example both on the pitch and in the locker room, and putting the good of the team ahead of everything. These are all qualities that once led players to receive the captain’s armband. The armband is not just a prestigious piece of cloth, it is a symbol of belonging.”
“The wearer represents the image of the club, it is the most visible emblem, the captain is listened to by his companions and can put them in line if they are wrong. In Inter’s history, Picchi, Mazzola, Facchetti, Bergomi, and Zanetti are all captains that will always be remembered. These men loved Inter and would never embarrass the club. It is up to Icardi to one day be associated with that very same pride to his name.”
