Former Inter coach and Treble winner Jose Mourinho spoke kindly of Inter fans and management after receiving a wonderful reception before the Quarter Final of Coppa Italia. Steven Zhang, Marotta and Javier Zanetti gifted the Portuguese manager a San Siro model made of glass and silver with the words “This is your home”. The whole stadium was chanting and singing about Mourinho during the game. Curva Nord have prepared a banner for the former Inter coach.
After the game Mourinho was very emotional, despite his Roma failing to get a result versus his previous club.
“I can only say Thank you to Zhang, Marotta, Zanetti and all who made me feel welcome tonight. I can never hide my emotional connection with Inter.”
Mourinho was dissapointed with the result. Still, the Roma coach was happy with the way his team played, except for the first 5 minutes. He added that his team tried to control the ball but failed to create a lot of chances due to the quality in the Inter team.
