Former Inter defender Joao Cancelo spoke after the 1-0 win against Inter and admitted, “Inter have remained in my heart.” after his loan spell there last year.
The full-back was on loan with the Nerazzurri from Valencia last season, however, Inter could not afford his €40M price tag. Juventus saw the opportunity that Inter didn’t see and took advantage of that to sign the 24 year old for €40M.
This has come back to haunt Inter as Cancelo assisted the winning goal against his former side last night.
He then went on to praise Inter:
“Inter are a great team and a direct rival for the Scudetto. Inter was a very important team for me, they helped me to grow a lot. Now I’m wearing the Juventus shirt and I’m only thinking of the Bianconeri, but Inter have remained in my heart.”
