After the annoucement of diagnosed cases of Corona virus, FIGC followed safety measures imposed by the Italian Ministry of Health.

The postponement of Inter’s game against Sampdoria, was in fact due to those exact reasons.

Yesterday, FIGC president Gabriele Gavina has confirmed that Il Derby d’Italia should be played behind closed doors.

This move is an attempt to limit the spread of the said virus by avoiding events that attract large crowds, thus increasing risks of contamination.

Knowing that the game will be held at Turin, this does take away a part of Juve’s home advantage.
