The Scudetto race is really going down to the wire this season. With three matchdays left, Milan are only two points clear of Inter at the top of the table. Furthermore, despite their loss to Bologna, Inter have the best odds to take the title home. This can be attributed to Milan’s final three fixtures being against Verona, Atalanta and Sassuolo, all three of which can go either way. With that said, Inter have a fairly easier set of fixtures to get through. The Inter vs Empoli game is one of those fixtures.
The loss to Bologna put a dent on Inter’s chances for an easy Scudetto defence. Nothing comes easy in football, especially when it’s between two city rivals. As Inter fans hope that Milan drop points, Inzaghi must be looking to finish the season on a high irrespective of the fact that they win the Scudetto or not.
Inter vs Empoli Statistics and Encounters
Inter came back to get all three points home against Udinese after the debacle against Bologna. Inzaghi’s side do seem to have a blip in its form even when things are going well. But that doesn’t mean that this Inter side cannot make three wins out of three in the remaining fixtures.
Inter’s form: W-L-W-W-W
Empoli’s form: L-W-L-D-L
With relegation out of question, Empoli have done well to stay up this season. But their recent record is an inconsistent one. They’ve won just once in their last five games. Losing three of those and sharing the exploits in one. But their only win came against Napoli which eventually put an end to Napoli’s title hopes.
