Inter suffered a major blow at the hands of Bologna during matchday 30 of the season. After leading 1-0 at half time, Inter failed to capitalize and fell to a 1-2 loss.

Inter coach, Antonio Conte left the pitch with his players and spent a lot of time in the dressing room with his players. Probably soul searching?

Here what Conte and his players had to say after the match.

Antonio Conte: “We gifted them the match, and this is happening way too often.  I’m primarily responsible, then it’s the players.”

“We need to assess these things because the game was practically ours. We should have seen it out. I’m finding it difficult to explain what happened: we had eleven players on the pitch compared to their ten, we were in the lead and had the opportunity to score a second from the penalty spot.”

“It’s not the first time that something like this has happened. I’m asking myself questions and the players need to do so too.”

“From now until the end of the season, everyone will have to prove that they deserve to be at Inter. If this is to be a winning project and there is a desire to be successful. We need to give everything we have to show that we’re worthy of Inter. We’ve clearly got some steps to take to become a great team.”

“I hope that a bit of fire is running through the players.”

Stefan De Vrij: “A lot of things were missing from that performance. We were in front and had a man advantage, but we didn’t manage to get the win. We’re disappointed.”

Conte has declared that Inter should aim to secure Champions League spot now.

Up next is Hellas Verona.
