After their first leg victory in the Champions League semi-final against Milan, Inter will host Dionisi’s Sassuolo on what is now Matchday 35 in the Serie A at San Siro on Saturday night.
Simone Inzaghi seems like he his committed to a plan of some lineup rotations with Tuesday’s return match against Milan in clear view, a match that will decide if the Nerazzurri will claim a place in the Champions League final in Istanbul. A potential victory over the Neroverdi would solidify a top four league finish while the world waits for the May 22nd ruling on Juventus’ points penalty.
Handanovic will most likely start in goal to give Onana some rest after his work in the Euroderby. In defense, we may see a possible return of D’Ambrosio alongside De Vrij and Acerbi. Bastoni will also be given some rest on Saturday. In midfield, Brozovic is almost certain to play next to the tireless Barella and Mkhitaryan from the first minute. Dumfries and Di Marco should be starting on the wings. In the attack, Lukaku and Correa are the probable starting duo as they had done well together against Roma last week at the Olimpico.
Sassuolo: Consigli; Toljan, Ferrari, Erlic, Rogerio; Frattesi, Lopez, Henrique; Berardi, Pinamonti, Lauriente.
INTER: Handanovic; De Vrij, D’Ambrosio, Acerbi; Barella, Mkhitaryan, Brozovic, Dumfries, Di Marco; Lukaku, Correa.
