Inter has been ranked one of the worst European clubs for youth players according to a study from CIES Football Observatory.

The CIES has accumulated this data by calculating the percentage of domestic league minutes given to youth/young players.

“young players” by definition mean players who had not yet reached their 21st birthday at the time of kick-off.

Within Europe’s Top 5 leagues, Borussia Dortmund emerged as the top club giving 28.5% of their minutes to their under-21 talent during the 2020-21 campaign.

Inter, are one of seven clubs to have not given a single minute to a U21 player this term. The average squad age for Inter is 28.6 years.

Inter currently has only 1 player in the squad (Flip Stankovic) who is under the age of 21.

Youth talents such as Esposito, Agoume, Eddie Salcedo, Pirola, and Brazao are enjoying loan spells elsewhere.

Despite all that, Inter is well on their way towards their first Serie A title in over 10 years. They are enjoying a commanding lead over their rivals AC Milan and Juventus by double digits.

With a handful of games remaining, the title is well within their grasp.
