According to Calciomercato.com, in the next months Inter will try to extend the contracts of Ivan Perisic and Samir Handanovic. The club is calm as they already found their replacements in Onana and Gosens. Still, they will try to keep the current starters with contracts expiring in 2022.
Perisic is probably having his best season since arriving at Inter. Therefore does not want to lower his demands – €5.5 miilion net per season. However, the management is not planning to offer more than €3.5 – 4 million. The Croatian International, who tuns 34 today, will have time to evaluate the offer as Inter already has Gosens, Di Marco and Darmian, who can all play in his position.
As for Samir Handanovic, Inter strongly wants to keep the current captain for two reasons. His presence in the locker room is very important to the team. The management considers he can play a role, similar to Andrea Ranocchia at the moment. Above that, new signing Onana is coming to Inter without any experience in Serie A. The Cameroon International also played just two games for Ajax in the current campaign. Therefore, he will definitely need time to settle and having an experienced goalkeeper as Handanovic to help him, can be very crucial. Of course, the Slovenian will also have to accept a lower salary, as he is no longer expected to be the starting goalkeeper when Onana arrives.
