Simone Inzaghi’s Inter will face Monza at the San Siro on Saturday night. The Nerazzurri are coming off the excellent victory against Benfica in Portugal this past week. In the league, however, they have been through some very difficult times including yet another draw against Salernitana at the Arechi last week. The three points are desperately needed by this team that currently sits at fifth place in the Serie A.

Inter’s probable lineup

Inzaghi’s team should play with his usual 3-5-2 starting Andre Onana in goal. In defense, he’ll probably go with Matteo Darmian as the right arm in the three-man defense. Alongside him, Bastoni and de Vrij will complete the back line. Francesco Acerbi is expected to receive a well deserved rest. In the midfield, Denzel Dumfries and Robin Gosens will start on the outside with Barella, Brozovic and Mkhitaryan in the center. In front, Inzaghi should have a Correa-Lukaku partnership from minute one.

Therefore, both Lautaro Martinez and Dzeko should both receive a well deserved rest as well. The two played against Benfica and could probably be played in the return match this coming Wednesday. However, they should be available off the bench depending on what happens in the earlier stages of the game.

INTER: Onana; Darmian, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Mkhitaryan, Gosens; Correa, Lukaku.

Monza: Di Gregorio; Izzo, Mari, Marlon; Ciurria, Sensi, Rovella, Augusto; Pessina, Caprari; Petagna.
