Mario Gotze has reportedly stalled contract extension talks with Dortmund and according to Football Italia, Inter could very well be his next destination.
The 2014 world cup winning hero made 34 appearances for the German side in 2018/19 and had looked to have rediscovered part of his best form. However he has had a slow start to this campaign, playing in only 23 minutes despite Borussia Dortmund already having played plenty of football.
Beppe Marotta is no stranger to a ‘bossman’ transfer, signing the likes of Pogba, Pirla, Llorente, Coman & Khedira at Juventus, while kicking off his Inter career by signing Diego Godin on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid.
The deal would no doubt be in line with Marotta’s transfer strategy and wouldn’t surprise most Inter fans to see the club make these kind of approaches while Beppe is at the helm.
The only concern for Inter would be the players history with injury. Mario missed the majority of the 2016/17 season with a serious muscle fibre injury.
