Skriniar scores the winner!

It wasn’t a match which Inter deserved to win. However the 3 points were taken from Atalanta, as Inter make it 7 wins in a row.

This win keeps Inter with a 6-point gap to second place AC Milan. Though, every point will be crucial as we still have 12 matches remaining in the season.

Let’s look at some key points from the Atalanta match.

An ugly win isn’t always bad!

The match with Atalanta wasn’t impressive by an means. There were moments where the old Inter would’ve easily conceded a goal, and ultimately drawn/lost the match.

Inter are really starting to gain momentum, and winning in new ways which hasn’t been seen for a while. Conte is starting to make this team his own after a year and half, and we are playing football he is proud of.

Although this season may not be as successful as first hoped, we should gain great confidence if we can wrap up the league. We will then build greatly into next season where we can have a real push at Champions League football.

Our defence rises again –

The defensive effort from the back 3 today was phenomenal. Especially Skriniar who played out of his skin, and kept Zapata under wraps for most of the match.

The goal Skriniar scored could’ve easily been called a penalty as Bastoni was taken down in the box, but I’m glad the referee played on as Skriniar put the ball in the back of the net.

Inter could’ve easily conceded a goal tonight, but as a unit we stood strong for 90 minutes. With some luck, we found our goal which was all that was needed.

I said it earlier in the year that our defence would win us the title, and with clean sheets in the past 7 of 9 matches you can understand why Inter is top of the table.

We finally have our Great Dane –

The confidence we are now seeing from Eriksen makes you wonder “Where was this a year ago?!”.

The match changed straight away once Vidal was subbed out for Eriksen.  There was more urgency and Inter looked to play with more purpose which was very positive.

Also, a bit more fluidity to the play, as that link from midfield to strikers suddenly appeared like we had seen in previous games.

Eriksen finally is living up the initial expectations we had when he signed from Tottenham.

Where to next?

An away match to Torino awaits Inter. This Torino side will be looking to get out of the relegation zone, which they are surprisingly in a battle for at the moment.

Can Inter make it 8 wins in a row?
Prediction: Inter 2-0

As always, Forza Inter!
