Welcome to this new section of our website. Taking after the very name of our club, let’s go International and check how the team is followed in different countries! Every week I’ll ask the same questions to the leader of different Inter Club all over the globe! Our first Inter Club is Egypt!
Now, let’s start with the first interview. I would like to thank Mohamed Hisham from the Inter Club Egypt for his time and kindness. You can find more info about this club on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/inter/InterCE
When and how was your club created?
The idea started in 2014 and we began to gather the member in Facebook group and asking who will be committed if we contacted the club but for many reasons we only took the approval in 2016 : https://www.inter.it/en/news/51399 MR . Mrwan Salama created the club and was elected the first president for the club and he took full responsibility of contacting the board and gathering the members and creating pages on social media
How many members did you have at the beginning? and How many do you have now?
we started with 35 members who paid the membership to Italy and the group had about 150 members now we have more than 700 members
How often do you meet up and where?
We meet up in the important matches like Inter-Juventus or Inter-Milan and also in many other matches, we have list of coffeehouses that we are dealing with in many cities and many districts and we contact them to take all the place before the matches.
How often do you go to San Siro (as a club)?
We’ve never gone to the San Siro as a club although Inter gave us discounts on tickets and transportation when we paid the memberships.
How old is your youngest member? The oldest?
We have Mrwan Mano who is 11 years old and Magdy who is 63.
Do you have any particular story you would like to share?
The Inter club Egypt board is associating with Milan club Egypt and Juventus club Egypt and Roma club Egypt in starting a united Italian club that creates football championships and guarantee a mixed gathering in the matches and facilitating many restaurants and stores with huge discounts to all the members and also to make sure all the fans to be in one place when the national Italian team is playing. We are mainly targeting to avoid any hooliganism or intolerance and to be friends with each other.
What represents Inter for you?
Inter represents life…with the whole meaning of it Inter is our life!
Is there a particular player linked to your club or that you would like to have as a guest?
We were very close from getting Fransesco Toldo but some political issued between Egypt and Italy destroyed it . If it is my choice I will chose one of those legends: Bergomi – Zanetti – Mazzola
Is there any special tradition within the club?
There is a yearly summer package includes many items (t-shirts – mugs – notebooks – pins – others) and a winter package that we are offering to the members from local stores with huge discounts, we also play football each Friday with each others and a team wears the Nerazzuro shirts and others wear the white.
Are you linked with any other Inter Club or would you like to?
We have little connections like with Inter club in Tunisia and in UAE and in Jordon and I follow most of the Arabian clubs on social media….yes of course I would like to.
What’s the craziest thing a member of your club did for an Inter game?
Getting some fire works in Derby Milano and firing it after winning. Walking in groups in the street of Egypt chanting “Pazza Inter amala” (which was for the normal people: what they are doing those crazy guys)
