Simone Inzaghi had some bad news from Bursa today: muscle problems. Hakan Calhanoglu had to leave in the 38th minute of the Turkey-Croatia UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match.
The Inter manager didn’t have time to rejoice at the return of Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco and now has to confront this latest incident in Bursa, where Calhanoglu had to abandon the match just before the 40th minute. The Nerazzurri midfielder began to feel pain around the groin area and was forced off the pitch with his side 1-0 down.
Ismail Yuksek was substituted in his place. The match later concluded in a 2-0 loss for the Turkish national team. It is not yet clear how serious this injury is or if Calhanoglu will miss any matches.
