Last night, Icardi returned on the pitch after 53 days full of drama; from getting stripped off from the captain arm band to refusing to play for Inter.
On his return, Icardi did not show any rust and played as if nothing had happened. He won a penalty, got Genoa’s defender Romero sent off and assisted Ivan Perisic.
Yesterday’s goal by Icardi meant that he has now scored 123 goals for Inter, equalising Vieri’s for most goals scored with Inter in all competitions.
Mauro is now in 8th place as Inter’s all-time top scorer in all competitions.
