Inter goalkeeper and captain Samir Handanović has extended his contract with the club for another 12 months.
His previous contract was initially due to end by 2021. Samir’s importance and quality pushed the club to decide to retain his service for one more season.
Having been rock solid for all those years, Inter has forgotten that Samir was an assurance in the goals. With his injury this season, the club realized the need for both depth and a proper heir to Handanovic
However, various reports point out that Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta is already working on a replacement.
As things stand, two names seem to be on top of the list: Genoa’s Radu and Udinese’s Musso. With Handanovic staying another year, Inter’s management has 12 more months to find a replacement with a similar quality.
