Gosens was happy with his performance in the 1-0 win over his old side Atalanta and is looking forward to the weekend fixture against Milan.
“We had a good match against an opponent that was not easy to deal with. Atalanta are in good form at the moment.
“On a personal level it was important to have a good performance. I wanted to repay the coach’s trust and I’m happy. I demonstrate in all training sessions that I give everything and for me this is important.
“Can’t wait for the derby (against Milan). For us, for the fans and for the club it is always very special. Today it was important to advance into the next round with the utmost confidence. Let’s go to work this week to be ready for Sunday.”
Gosens has struggled with fitness issues since joining Inter a year ago. Finally he is looking sharp again, so it will be interesting to see how Inzaghi juggles Dimarco and Gosens on that left side.
