Gabigol is likely to leave on another loan spell in Brazil. Sky Sport Italy reported that the Inter striker, whose year-long loan to Santos has just expired, should once again leave the nerazzurri temporarily.

This time Gabriel Barbosa will move to Rio rather than Sao Paulo, specifically at Flamengo. The Brazilian giants seem to have surpassed West Ham, the most interested European club, in the race to sign Gabigol. This could potentially be because of the player’s inability to obtain a work permit for the UK. As reported by Inter Worldwide a few weeks ago, though, the Carioca side had always been a likely destination. Besides, the true tipping point was probably Gabigol’s own will to remain in his home country.

it is still unclear whether the loan will last 6 or 12 months, as the European and Brazilian seasons end at different times. Hopefully Gabigol’s impressive South American form will have at least granted Inter an offloading of his wages on Flamengo’s accounts, as it hasn’t yet earned an offloading of the player himself.
