Flamengo plan on keeping Gabigol

Flamengo Vice-President, Marcos Braz, has confirmed that the club plan to keep Inter loanee Gabriel Barbosa beyond December 31.

Gabigol is having the time of his life in Brazil scoring 26 goals for Flamengo in the League and Copa Libertadores. The Brazilian has finally found his form despite having a slow start at European level.

The Brazilian’s performances have seen him return to International level which caught the attention of Inter fans. Some even say to recall the 23-year-old as back up for Lukaku and Martinez.

Here is what Vice President had to say about the forward:

“Conversations for his stay are underway, but it’s still too early. We’ve started talking to his agents. I don’t think there will be any problems if he wants to stay.”

He continued:

“Flamengo will make a strong and satisfying proposal. We’ll make every effort to keep him.”
