Speaking to BeIN Sports, the former Inter forward Samuel Eto’o spoke about his Barcelona experience before he eventually signed for Inter, winning yet another treble:
“Guardiola? He lived his life in Barcelona but in those years, he didn’t understand the team. He preferred Messi instead of me as a striker and I told him you will ask me for forgiveness because I will make Barcelona win, not Messi.”
“Eventually when I won with Barcelona, I expected Guardiola to ask for forgiveness but my agent told me that the club put me on the transfer market. I was really surprised but it was a request from Guardiola.”
“My move to Inter? It is the best deal in history. It is clear that the Pep wanting me to leave allowed me to become an even bigger part of football history. And it allowed Inter to complete the biggest deal in history.”
