Inter entered the first leg against Ludogorets with a much-rotated side. Andrea Ranocchia captained the team with Handanovic still sidelined. Despite chances, goals proved difficult until Lukaku’s introduction for Lautaro Martinez.

A brilliantly worked move led to a great chance for Christian Eriksen, and he did miss. With his first goal for the club, a sense of relief covered his face. Hopefully, a sign of good things to come.

An Eriksen corner resulted in a penalty due to a handball. VAR intervened, with the referee having to use a makeshift setup, as the Bulgarian League does not use VAR. Finally, in the 95th min, Lukaku buried the penalty.

With two second half away goals, Ludogorets are left with quite the challenge at the San Siro. Inter are in full control heading into the second leg.
